Literacy Pictures

Daily 5- Students go to five centers every day. Their schedule is on the promethean board so they know where to go. Centers included are: Read to Self, Work on Writing, Listen to Read, Word Work, and Teacher Table.

Regg’s Rockin’ Work- This is where students can place work that they are proud of in the classroom.

Words Their Way- Personal Reader- Students keep their sorts in the pencil pouch to manipulate throughout the week.

Students also keep poems, sight words, abc’s, and finished sorts in their personal readers.

Book Boxes- Each student has their own book box. In each book box are: leveled readers, magazines, fun picture books, Dr. Seuss books, and a golden book.

During Literacy we make public records on the promethean board and then print them out so that we can have more on the walls. This is an example of a writing activity where we were brainstorming “Things to do in the Snow.”

CAFE Menu- As we have learned about new features in literacy we add to our Cafe Menu.

Student Work- Each student has their own drawer with their number on the outside. In each drawer is differentiated material for each student. Students go to their drawer to get out the paper they need, if any, for each center.

Math Box- Each student has their own math box with the materials that they will need for the week.

Daily 5 Math- Math Centers are a lot like Literacy Centers. Every student goes to 5 different centers every day. Centers included are: Math by Myself, Math with Someone, Math Technology, Math Writing, and Math Work.

Computers- I am very lucky to have 6 working computers for my students to use. Students use computers during math and literacy centers to increase their technology skills.
